International Coffee Day 1/10/2024

On October 1st of every year, the world celebrates International Coffee Day.   

Who among us does not enjoy this delicious dark drink that brings together friends, families, and even strangers from all over the world? The history of coffee drinking dates back to the 15th century in Yemen and the Arab region, following the spread of coffee bean trading from its discovery in Ethiopia.  

In Dubai, a coffee roastery offers the most expensive cup of coffee in the world exclusively, according to the International Coffee Organization, which designated October 1st as International Coffee Day for the first time in 2015. Approximately 9.13 million bags of coffee are exported monthly worldwide. International Coffee Day revolves around a different theme each year, and this year’s theme is “Women in the Coffee Industry,” focusing on highlighting the role of women in the coffee world, aiming to raise public awareness of the importance of fairness and equality in the coffee sector, which can only be achieved through empowering women to enhance the coffee sector globally.
